Three Ways to Beat the Heat in
Citrus Park and Carrollwood

Although it may be October, here in Florida we are still in a heat wave. It might take a little bit longer before we need to trade our t-shirts for sweaters, so in the meantime here are some great ways your Citrus Park and Carrollwood Chiropractor suggests you can beat the heat.

The first thing you can do to cool off and escape the stifling heat and humidity is go to the movies! The Regal Cinemas Citrus Park 20 at Westfield Park is the perfect place to go, especially if you want to get into more of the Halloween spirit right now. The theater is playing a few spooky movies like a Halloween remake and The Nun. If you're with your kids, there are a couple of family friendly Halloween movies like Goosebumps 2 and The House with A Clock in its Walls. If you catch a matinee showing, the tickets will be cheaper and there also won't be as many people in the theater. Purchase some popcorn, drinks, and a few boxes of candy and you've got the perfect way to cool off and still have some fun on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

Another way to beat the heat would be to do an escape room. These are always indoors in the air conditioning and they are very exciting and fun. I would recommend going to Escape Quest Tampa, located off Gunn Highway. This is a fantastic activity to do with a group of friends or family, because the more people you have the more brainpower you'll have! The game is timed on a 60 minute timer, so you'll need to act quickly in order to find a way out before time is up Escape Quest Tampa has a room called The Riddle Room where you'll need to solve riddles and clues in order to escape. The attraction also has a new room opening soon called Davinci's Mystery. You'll want to plan out the details with your group and the time you want to play ahead of time, because Escape Room Tampa only takes reservations in advance, so be sure to call and set up your fun afternoon or night out. It is open every day of the week with varying hours, so check out their website to find a time that works for you.

The third activity I'm going to recommend is perfect for these hot, muggy Florida nights. You don't need to spend your Friday night bar hopping in the heat. Instead, check out Side Splitters Comedy Club, located off North Dale Mabry Highway. This comedy club is the perfect place to de-stress with some laughter in the cool air conditioning. The club hosts all kind of events from an open mic night, to an improv night where audience members can submit their improv ideas and watch them get played out onstage. You can also purchase tickets for upcoming solo shows by various comedians. Check out Side Splitters' website or their Twitter feed for upcoming events.

You don't need to cope with 90 degree weather in order to go out and have some fun. Check out these fun places and activities and the weather will be cooler before you know it!
